LOKA

PHOTOGRAPHY

AN ARTIST COLLECTIVE

ADVOCATING FOR SOCIAL CHANGE

GET TO KNOW US!

Loka Photography is the union of two worlds and two stories that converge to shout the indispensable. Loka is an art collective founded on love and shared ideologies, based in Luxembourg and composed of Laura Londoño (artist, photographer, political scientist, and Colombian) and Yannick Kayser (artist, photographer, physicist specializing in data analysis, and Luxembourger).

As Joan Manuel Serrat said: "Caminante, no hay camino, se hace camino al andar" ("Traveler, there is no path; the path is made by walking")—we have chosen art as our path, driven by the courage to defy a world of "sanity" that demands conformity.

Courage fuels our freedom, helping us uncover beauty in the shadows. It inspires us to love without barriers or distinctions. It gives us the strength to believe this world belongs to everyone and the hope that, even in the darkest night, the sun will rise.

Loka is courage.

Loka is love.

ARTIST STATMENT

MEMBERS

LAURA LONDO

Photography allows me to transcend the boundaries of language, disclose social injustices and give a voice to those who suffer from them. It has become my way of relating to the world, and a means of creating new realities. Through my lens, I can fabricate aesthetics and capture the essence of social issues.

YANNICK KAYSER

Merging physics, social science and art as a tool to express and share my experiences. I believe that the interplay of science and art can foster real change in the world and lay open the struggles of a postmodern world.
